Idahome Jiu-Jitsu History

Professor Ryan Chroninger

Ryan earned his Black Belt under Professor Sam Campanella in September 2022 at 208 Jiu-Jitsu Academy. He wrestled for Caldwell High School and joined the Idaho Army National Guard at 17, eventually enlisting in the US Army after graduating. He earned the highest instructor certification in the Modern Army Combatives Program, completing 4 levels of instructor certification. After his Army service, he worked as a Sheriff’s Deputy and trained in ground control as a member of CERT. In 2024, Ryan opened Idahome Jiu-Jitsu and began teaching at the Caldwell Armory. He continues to serve with the Idaho Army National Guard, with over 27 years of service, and leads the Modern Army Combatives Program for Idaho.

Blue Belt

Ryan “Alex” Chroninger is a Blue Belt under his father, Professor Ryan Chroninger. Ryan started his grappling experience wrestling as a kid through middle school, earning the title of District
Champion from West Middle School in Nampa, Idaho. Ryan started training Jiu-Jitsu with his father while in high school and continued his training in Houston, Texas where he attended college. Ryan has his Personal Training Certificate and has trained numerous competitors in Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
